Event Overview

An exciting addition to the calendar for Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre, providing the opportunity for our grass root riders to participate in a Hunter Trials. Our centre has been enhanced with a significant new investment to create a world class new centre and facilities. Our site is easily accessible and parking is plentiful. You will find our service very friendly and our staff completely committed to making your time with us as enjoyable as possible.

Hunter Trials is a perfect test between horse and rider over a cross country course. A great test for riders of all abilities, our event will include classes from 70cm up to 1.00m. Competitors will tackle a flagged, numbered and dressed cross country course, which will be timed from start to finish. The combination with the least number of penalties and closest to the optimum time will be the winner.

This competition is run under British Eventing rules.

Our current vaccination rules and requirements apply to this event. All horses/ponies must be up to date with annual flu vaccinations.

Classes may be divided into sections dependent on number of entries per class. A maximum of 40 competitors per section will apply. Juniors and Seniors will jump together, we will not be splitting.

What To Wear

XC attire must be worn for the competition.

You must wear an up to standard hat (as per British Eventing Rules)

You must wear an up to standard body protector. If an air jacket is worn, this must be worn over a standard body protector.

You will need to provide your own number bib.

Rosettes and Prizes

Rosettes will be awarded up to 6th place. Prizes will be confirmed in due course. The top 6 competitors are required to attend the prize giving’s. Please note if you do not attend the prize giving’s or notify a member of staff you will not be present you will forfeit your prize money, rosette and prize.

Abandonment & Cancellation of the Event

In the case of any of the following, all entries will be refunded minus a £10 cancellation fee.

Abandonment means a decision not to run events, or any part therefore, for 
(i) safety reasons caused by adverse weather or poor light which are beyond the reasonable control of the organiser;
(ii) where an event has experienced a serious medical emergency such that continuation of that fixture is deemed by BE not to be in the interest of the sport and competitors/officials/volunteers;
(iii) if Eventing is prohibited or advised against by the UK Government or a government agency either regionally or nationally as a result of a notifiable diseases

Accommodation and Catering

Catering will be available all day during the competition in Urchins Kitchen, serving delicious hot and cold food along with a selection of cakes and hot and cold refreshments. It is also a fully licensed bar.

Spectators and Dogs

Spectators are welcome for free to come and enjoy the sporting action! Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. We have excellent disabled facilities at the centre to ensure everyone can enjoy the day out. If you require further information, please do ring the office on 01829 708241 to discuss any needs.
