Cross Country

Set in open farmland our Cross Country Schooling field offers a wide variety of solid fences designed for training purposes. We offer jumps for all abilities from beginners up to the more advanced.

Our cross country schooling has undergone a significant investment in a new water complex, quarry, ditches, banks, steps and a sunken road all built by David Evans, who has also built for the Hong Kong Olympics, Blenheim, Chatsworth and Gatcombe.

We are set on sandy soil so usually find that our land can withstand most weathers. However, if for any reason we decide not to open the facility we will call you to let you know. If you want to see the forecast click on the following icon:

We ask that instructors park in the car park and walk down to the field.

Schooling over the British Eventing course

We hold a British Eventing affiliated events twice a year in April and September.

After the events we will open up the eventing course for schooling for two weeks. We have courses from 80cm up to intermediate but we do NOT allow schooling over the intermediate course or any pinned fences or those that will be too much of a question or where the profile makes jumping too much of a challenge once the flowers are removed. (The arbiter of whats safe to school over is David Evans and we will not negotiate on safety matters even if you’re really nice and really want to practice one thats cross flagged).

The charge for schooling over the BE course is £25 per horse and there are no discounts allowed for group size or for clubs. Please contact the office to find out whether this facility is available, tel: 07809689972.

The course will be closed on the monday following the event to allow us to check the course and flag off jumps we don’t want using.

We reserve the right to close the course at short notice and without explanation should the need arise.
