In my opinion, Kelsall Hill is one of the best one-day event courses I’ve seen in this country. I hadn’t planned to run all my horses today but when I saw how fantastic the ground was I thought that I would give them a confidence-giving run before aiming them at Boekelo Horse Trials in Holland. Full credit to the Kelsall Hill team – this is an exceptional event.
Kelsall Hill is renowned throughout the country for its unbelievable good footing come wind, rain or shine. I enjoy the challenge of giving the lower level riders a taste of the questions facing the riders of the upper echelons of the sport while at the time providing an educational experience for the younger horses with the countries top professional riders. The great viewing at Kelsall Hill cross country course provides spectators with a unique opportunity to watch the stars of tomorrow crossing the country.
Kelsall Hill consistently provides great competition opportunities for the British Eventing membership and we are delighted that they will be hosting their first International classes from 2021. Their tender for these classes highlighted their ability to provide viable commercial partnership offerings, and sponsorship at Kelsall Hill is a brilliant way to gain access to a unique and engaged demographic. The sport of Eventing is high paced and exciting, and I am sure that anyone involved in the sport and with the team at Kelsall Hill will find it a valuable and rewarding experience.
Kelsall Hill is definitely one of the best one day events on the circuit and one that I always try to get to, an outstanding horse trials venue. The cross country courses are fantastic in design and build, whist being spectator friendly with a ‘Barbury-esque’ cross country viewing which ensures the event is popular with owners too. The ground was amazing, full credit to the team!
We try to put on the best event we can, with everything turned out just right so that riders can educate their horses for bigger and better things. The dressage area, show jumping arenas and cross-country courses provide a spectacular backdrop for competitors, spectators and sponsors alike.
Spectators are welcome to come and view the event while rider combinations compete, demonstrating their accuracy and control with dressage, their precision and athleticism with show jumping and bravery and experience with the cross-country fences. Non-BE members are expected to pay a small fee for entrance to help pay for the marshals. Spectators can get a discount on entry by buying their tickets upfront using our online ticketing system.
There are food concessions and trade stands at the event to enhance the visitor experience.
Of course, the events are run with the governments covid guidelines in place and we will alter the plans immediately if necessary if government advice changes.
Bookings
- Clients must book in by phone prior to coming to ensure the facilities are open and there is space.
- All riders must report to the office on arrival and to sign in and pay. The terms and conditions must be agreed, induction read and disclaimer signed. Under no circumstances can you use the facility on a ‘pay later basis’.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry/hire without stating the reason and to cancel the hire and all rights of admission.
- All hire fees include VAT @ 20%.
- Our aim is to be open 365 days a year but there are occasions when the weather does not permit this. To find out if were open, please call the office on 07809689972.
- If the weather conditions determine that the facilities are unsuitable to use, we have the right to close the facility, however all bookings will be contacted.
Cancellations
- Cancellations within a 24 hour period of the booking will be charged at full rate, unless an alternative date is booked.
- ‘No Shows’ will be charged at full price and access to competitions and future facility hire will not be granted until the payment is made.
